I grew up in a loving, hardworking family. As a child, I helped sell food at the waterfall to support us. When I was ten, my family sent me to Kulen Outreach in Siem Reap to seek a better education. Leaving home was difficult, but I knew it was necessary for my future.

Life in the city brought new challenges. While I loved my English classes, I faced bullying in primary school that made me feel very alone. However, I found strength in a close friendship. A girl I met at Kulen Outreach Boarding School. I now consider her my ‘little sister.’ We have supported each other through each grade, and she remains my greatest motivation today.

My dream is to become an English teacher. I want to learn and get experience in Siem Reap and then return to my hometown on the mountain. Many students there drop out because they lack resources and teachers. I want to be the person who helps them stay in school, achieve their dreams, and make their families proud. English is a bridge to the world, and I want to build that bridge for my people.
