My name is Lai, and I grew up in a farming family on Kulen Mountain. Life was difficult, and my parents worked hard to support five children, but I always believed that education could change our future. In 2019, I was chosen by Kulen Outreach to move to Siem Reap for my studies. Although I was shocked by the busy city and after a while I missed my family, I remembered my mother’s advice: “Study hard so you can have a good future.”Since joining Kulen Outreach, I have gained valuable skills in English, computers, and leadership. I am now determined to use my education to break the cycle of poverty and support my parents.
My goal is to build a successful career as a computer scientist and show other children in my village that anything is possible. I am ready to work hard to make my family and community proud.
