Our Organisation
Kulen Outreach is a community-led organisation dedicated to providing long-term educational support from primary school to college graduation. Through collaboration, sustainability, and shared commitment, we help students reach their full potential.
Working closely with local communities, educators, and partners, we focus on building strong foundations that extend beyond the classroom. Our programmes are designed to support students, strengthen families, and create positive impact that lasts for generations.

Kulen Outreach: History
Where a journey became a long-term commitment to education
Kulen Outreach began in 2014 after Gordon Elliott and Claire Handleman witnessed firsthand the lack of educational opportunities on Phnom Kulen. What started as a visit quickly became a commitment to supporting students and rebuilding access to education in rural northern Cambodia.
From opening primary schools to building a boarding campus in Siem Reap and launching learning centres on Kulen Mountain, our journey has been shaped by partnership, perseverance, and belief in our students’ potential.

A COMMITMENT BUILT THROUGH ACTION, PARTNERSHIP, AND EDUCATION.
SUSTAINABILITY AT KULEN OUTREACH
Building environmental responsibility through daily practice and learning
In one of Cambodia’s most isolated regions, Kulen Outreach is building a culture of sustainability where formal waste and sanitation systems do not exist. Through everyday practice and education, we help students understand their environment and the impact of their choices.
From recycling and composting to gardening and water awareness, sustainability is embedded into daily school life. These hands-on experiences empower students to become environmental leaders within their families and communities.

SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICED DAILY, LED BY STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY.
REPORTS AT KULEN OUTREACH
Transparency through shared progress and accountability
Our reports share how Kulen Outreach supports students from remote villages through every stage of their education. They provide a clear view of our programs, progress, and the outcomes we work toward together.
By openly sharing our work, we help partners and supporters understand the impact of their involvement. Transparency is central to how we build trust and demonstrate our commitment to long-term change.

SHARED PROGRESS THAT BUILDS TRUST AND LONG-TERM IMPACT.
