Look What You Helped Us Do!
Your support helped bring clean water, teacher housing, and a new high school to Popel Village—strengthening education and futures on Kulen Mountain together.

At our February fundraiser, you offered both your expertise and financial support to help us build urgently needed teacher housing and deliver clean water to Popel Village, critical foundations for expanding education to the most remote communities on Kulen Mountain.
And through that event, with your donations and introductions, we were introduced to Andrew Bridson.
With Andrew and his company’s help in designing a septic system for our Popel Learning Centre, we discovered a new water source on Kulen Mountain that will now provide the entire Popel Village with much better water access and sanitation. Clearly, we were surrounded by lucky charms that evening.
When we shared this progress with village elders and regional education officials, we received incredible news: the Cambodian Government has formally recognised our twelve years of effort by committing to build a new high school near Popel Village, set to open in November 2026.
This new school will allow our students to remain at home and attend classes on the mountain and engage with us through the learning centre to improve their English and computer skills. Students will live with their families, attend the new high school each morning, and continue their specialised Kulen Outreach classes each afternoon.

This enables us to maintain our 100% graduation rate, a remarkable contrast to the national average of 6%, while restoring the stability and belonging that come from family life during the teenage years.
We have been considering what we should do with our boarding school and have identified the need in Siem Reap for a women-only dormitory. We will transition to this once all our students are settle back home in these Villages.
The boarding school will allow the young women from our graduate class to attend university and vocational training in Siem Reap while avoiding the unsafe housing and inadequate accommodation most students are currently offered.
These achievements made possible by your generosity represent a profound step forward. Together, we are reaching more students, strengthening families, and building a future for rural communities that is lasting, sustainable, and truly transformational.
Inspired by these developments, two of our long-time supporters have pledged a USD $50,000 matching gift for all contributions made before 31 December.
Every dollar you give will be doubled by our very own Kulen “Santas.”
We ask that this holiday season you consider making a donation to Kulen to further our mission in empowering and educating the young women on Kulen mountain.
Our Impact
“I dream of becoming a doctor. Kulen Outreach has promised to help me reach my dream. I have just started my journey in their program, but they believe in me, so I know I can do it.”
She is inspired by these three women who were some of our first Kulen Outreach students.
