Joss McDonald Fundraiser 2016
As many of you know, 16 months ago, I broke my back in a snowboarding accident. Determined to overcome my injury and continue my love of running, I’ve spent the last few months training for the Angkor Half Marathon in Siem Reap, Cambodia. On December 4th, I will be running 21 kilometers with people from all over the world through Cambodia’s world renowned temples.
During my time in Cambodia, I’ve also been fortunate enough to volunteer for a small NGO school called Kulen Outreach with 12 amazing students who have inspired me to work hard towards my post-injury goals. I’ve decided to run this marathon for these kids and prove to them and myself that hard work and determination will always win.
How will the proceeds be used? Most of you know I love to read. I’m in Cambodia to teach, help build libraries and promote literacy. Kulen Outreach is in need of a library and media center. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used towards new books, computers and other learning material you’d find in a library. I’m excited to be able to contribute to something I am passionate about!
Kulen Outreach is a government registered not-for-profit charity in both the United States and Cambodia.
Thank you to all of our supporters!
